What is D&D?

D&D stands for Dungeons and Dragons and is a collaborative storytelling game where players roleplay as characters going on epic adventures together. You will fight monsters, explore exotic landscapes, and work together to solve mysteries and find treasure. Your “Dungeon Master” will narrate the world and guide you through how your character can use their skills to the fullest. Different campaigns take place in different worlds and have different theming but the rules will be the same. Any game that is not D&D will be specified.

Do I have to have played D&D before to sign up for a game?

Absolutely not! New players are invited to join any of our seasonal campaigns or weekend events. We do run an “Intro to D&D” event multiple times a year and would encourage any new players who are interested in joining to sign up for that to try it out and learn some of the basic gameplay.

Now that I’ve signed up, do I need to prepare anything for my first session?

Accepted Answer

In your game, you will play as a fantasy character. This character will have stats and abilities along with an optional backstory. If you are an experienced D&D player, please feel free to make your own character sheet in advance of the first game (in line with the campaign info our DM will send to you). If you are a new player or don’t wish to create your own, we will have pre-created character sheets that you can choose from and use when you arrive for your first game.

What are TTRPG's?

TTRPG stands for Tabletop Roleplaying Game and is an overarching term for the type of collaborative storytelling games that we run here. D&D is the most famous example of a TTRPG, but there are many others. Currently, all our recurring events are playing D&D but special weekend events may be other TTRPGs where specified.

Do I need to bring any supplies?

Accepted Answer

NJ Game Table has all the supplies you need including character sheets, dice, dice trays, miniatures, and writing supplies. However, players are free and encouraged to bring their own of any of those things. If bringing your own miniature, please make sure it is a standard 28mm scale. You may also want a notebook or pad for note taking purposes.

How do I park and find you?

We are located at 221 Stirling Rd Unit 3C Watchung, NJ 07069. Park on the left-hand side of the building and enter through the main door facing the road. We are to the right and down the hall as you enter; there will be posted signage every step of the way.
